NBDC is an educational service designed to help business owners, especially small and medium sized businesses, compete more evenly with larger firms that have the resources to employee similar consulting services. NBDC's staff is committed to the free enterprise system and is convinced of the contributions that small and medium sized businesses can make in that system to the growth of Nebraska.

Any business in Nebraska may apply for assistance from NBDC. Assistance is provided by NBDC's staff of trained consultants, through consultants employed by it, and through faculty at its participating colleges and universities. NBDC works with

• individuals who wish to start a company
• firms that are planning to expand or pursue new business opportunities
• firms that are experiencing operational or financial difficulties

NBDC offers you a host of services through its many programs. Services are for new and existing businesses. Basic consulting is FREE. Other services are offered on a cost reimbursement basis.

Since 1977 the Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC) has been "Helping good businesses become better." NBDC provides more than 2,000 businesses with counseling assistance each year. It also provides continuing education programs, sponsors special projects and conducts research in areas of importance to businesses in Nebraska.

The Nebraska Business Development Center is a cooperative program of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).

NBDC is a business development center. Business development centers operate in each state, theDistrict of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands under provisions of the Small Business Development Center Act of 1980. NBDC was one of the eight pilot small business development centers. NBDC is fully certified by the Association of Small Business Development Centers.
